  7.      WHAT IS EXPLORING DRAMA?
  8.      ______________________

  10.      EXPLORING DRAMA is intended for use by students in the U. S. 
  11.      Naval Academy's plebe year English course, Rhetoric and 
  12.      Introduction to Literature.  Drama is one of the literary 
  13.      genres to which students are introduced in that course.  
  14.      What we have needed is a way to convey background 
  15.      information to them to widen the scope of their knowledge a 
  16.      bit.  Class work normally concentrates on reading, analyzing 
  17.      and writing about a handful of plays chosen by each teacher.  
  18.      What we have needed is something to give students a overview 
  19.      of the subject matter most often taught and to introduce 
  20.      them to the terminology used in class discussions.

  22.      Using IBM's LINKWAY, Professor David Tomlinson developed 
  23.      this material for use by the students during the summer of 
  24.      1990 and made additions and revisions during 1991.  His work 
  25.      was funded by an IDP grant furnished by the Naval Academy.

  27.      The information contained in the program is generally 
  28.      available information.  The originality of the program is to 
  29.      make it easily available to each student.  All students at 
  30.      the Academy must purchase a computer on entrance; and the 
  31.      program is being made available to each of them free of any 
  32.      cost using IBM's LINKWAY runtime program.

  35.      HOW CAN I INSTALL EXPLORING DRAMA?

  38.      Place the installation disk in the A drive and type 
  39.      "install."  The installation program will copy the packed 
  40.      file DRAMA15.EXE to your hard disk and unpack it.  [If you 
  41.      wish to install the program from the B drive use the DOS 
  42.      assign command: ASSIGN B=A.  Then treat the B drive as 
  43.      though it were the A drive.]

  45.      The program requires 512K of memory and EGA/VGA color as 
  46.      well as a mouse.  Once the files are copied to the directory 
  47.      you name, merely type GO to begin using the program.

  49.      The unpacked files require about 1.65M of space.  Once the 
  50.      files are unpacked, you may delete DRAMA15.EXE, recovering 
  51.      300K of storage space.

  54.      HOW DO I USE EXPLORING DRAMA?

  57.      The program requires virtually no explanation for use.  The 
  58.      first screen, the IBM runtime screen instructs you to push 
  59.      any key to continue.  The second screen contains two buttons 
  60.      at the bottom: EXIT and NEXT.  Choose NEXT to continue the 
  61.      program.  Choose it by moving the mouse pointer to the word 
  62.      and clicking the left mouse button.

  67.      HELP button or the INTRODUCTION on the first program page 
  68.      which appears.
